What’s On Your iPod?
Last week I was asked what kind of music like to listen to. That’s a good question. I don’t know. And if you looked at my iPod you wouldn’t know either.
I DO know, however, WHY I was asked that question. Sometimes people just need to “put you in a box.” People like to classify you. Compartmentalize their lives. So how would you classify me?
Here’s what’s in my iPod…..
Tschaivosky, Beethoven, Mahler, Schubert, Mendelssohn….I love baroque. I am a flutist. I’m an oboist. This would lead you to believe that I would probably like classical music, and you would be correct.
I have Motley Crue, Metallica, Van Halen and Queen in my playlists. I am a child of the 80’s. This would also be correct.
I like John Denver. I’m a bit of a naturalist.
I love movie soundtracks – especially those composed by John Williams. (Star Wars, Indiana Jones, ET, etc.) Movie fan??? Hmmmmm…..
I also like Nightwish because of the full orchestra in the background. (My older kids tell me it’s Goth Metal. ) Where in the heck is the box for THAT???
I like “classics” too. Frank Sinatra, Benny Goodman, BIG bands. I’m mature, perhaps?
Then there are my more eclectic choices. The Cranberries, Enya, Rod Stewart, Sheryl Crow, Ozzie, Chris LeDoux, Simon & Garfunkle, Slayer, Slipknot, Lita Ford, Stray Cats…..
You get the idea, right?
I don’t think there’s a box for me. And I don’t think I mind.
