Life of a Fire Wife

Today is my favorite Aunt’s birthday! I won’t give her actual age, but I will tell you that she is 9 years older than me.

I am the oldest grandchild on my dad’s side of the family, and when I started talking I couldn’t say “Dianna” so I called her Nana instead. Subsequently, all my cousins and siblings also called her Nana.

Nana is cool. When I was a kid we went to see drive-in movies, climbed Mt. Rubidoux on Easter Sunday, fed the ducks at Fairmount Park, did Disneyland, Knott’s Berry Farm and LOTS of Colonial Dames conferences too. We watched Gone With the Wind together, and lots of shopping.

Krissy has her middle name.

I think this is very nice. I am sorry I did not catch it until now. I very much appreciate it.

I didn’t know if you would remember climbing Mt. Rubidoux. I sure could not do that anymore.

At times I feel more than 9 years older than you, but you are only as old as you feel. Today, ????????????? It has been a rough week at work.

Remember the night we took Grandpa pick up to the drive-in and all of you were in the back and I hit one of the lights mounted on the cinderblock wall at the Van Buren? All I saw out the back window was about 6 or 7 kids ducking under covers and chairs. I had a heck of a time explaining that to Grandpa. Think I replaced the mirror.

Of course, now days you cannot sit and feed the ducks at Fairmont Park unless you pack a pistol. But we had a lot of fund there. We used to go to the little carnival they had there. They had a little roller coaster, ferris wheel and all sorts of stuff.

Thank you again for the kind message.

Love you and thank you for the name sake!!!!
